Buena Vista Museum of Natural History and Science, occupying a two-story building downtown, the museum features a variety of Asian, African and North American mounted animals including an antelope, baboon, kangaroo, leopard, lion, ostrich, tiger and zebra. Visitors also can see shark jaws, shark teeth and marine mammal fossils recovered in the area, which was once under water. A reconstructed Yokuts Indian family dwelling houses artifacts, and display cases are filled with arrowheads, trading beads and baskets.
