Operated by the Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences, the Buffalo Museum of Science houses more than 650,000 specimens of botanical, zoological and anthropological forms from the Greater Niagara Region. The museum also maintains a collection of items related to the fields of entomology, mycology and paleontology representing the natural history of the Greater Niagara Region, as well as valuable materials for teaching, exhibition and research worldwide. It houses the Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet Elementary School that offers specialized science education to more than 1,000 students. The museum's Center for Science Education specializes in reforming science teaching in public schools. It also offers public programs, such as Explorations, Storytime, Summer Discovery Camps, as well as night camps and birthdays parties. The Buffalo Museum of Science is located in Buffalo, N.Y.
