California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) has been providing health care services to the downtown Los Angeles-community for more than a century. CHMC is a branch company of Catholic Healthcare West and was founded in 1887 by Dr. Walter Lindley and two other physicians. The hospital provides services for emergencies, a continuing condition or having a baby. CHMC is accessible by all major freeways throughout the downtown area and public transportation, including buses and light rails. Its mission is to make every stage of life better through its programs and services provided at the company s hospitals and medical clinics. CHMC enhances the healing abilities of health care professionals by offering education, training and a variety of programs to expand experience.
