Callanwolde, a magnificent Gothic-Tudor mansion, was built in 1920 as the home of Charles Howard Candler, eldest son of Coca-Cola founder Asa Candler. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Callanwolde is one of the finest arts education centers in the Southeast. Located in the esteemed Druid Hills neighborhood, Callanwolde is situated on twelve lush acres, with several outer buildings surrounding the 27,000 square-foot main house. It is a favorite venue for weddings and private events as well as concerts and visual art exhibits with its outdoor summer Jazz on the Lawn series and the Callanwolde Gallery exhibits. Throughout the year, Callanwolde offers classes and workshops for all ages in the visual, literary and performing arts.
