The development of the philosophy was simple: large accounting firms do not service small business owners, and small business owners cannot afford a large internal accounting staff. The concept of having a company CFO and an entire accounting department has been bundled into a "Business Essentials" package. The Business Essentials package includes the necessary things to run a business. For example, monthly reporting includes financial statements, general ledgers, payroll journals, bank reconciliation, tax coupon preparation and so on. Year-end reporting includes preparation of both corporate and personal income tax returns, annual payroll reporting such as W-2 and 1099 prep along with income tax forecasting.
