Cape & Islands Tire Co. was founded in 1972 by partners Gilbert Wood and Gene Pierce on Bearses Way in Hyannis where it is still headquartered today. Both men are long time Cape Codders, Gil working in the automotive service business and Gene in truck tire sales and service. The business first expanded by building a brand new tire store adjacent to their original building in 1974. But Gil and Gene didn't stop there; the next step was adding a new store in Orleans to better serve the lower Cape. After that it was a new store in East Falmouth to serve the Upper Cape. And finally, the addition of a 40,000 square foot warehouse and Retail store gave them coverage of the Cape from beyond to bridges to Provincetown.
Tires are the only business we know at Cape & Islands Tire Co. For over 35 years we have been serving Cape Cod's tire needs from the smallest wheelbarrow tire to the largest off-road truck tire.
