Southern Community Bank and Trust opened for business in November of 1996 in Winston-Salem, N.C., with one office and 13 employees. Since then, it has expanded to more than 200 employees, a growing network of banking offices across the Piedmont Triad and surrounding communities and a comprehensive range of financial services. The financial services include personal, business and investor services. The bank is a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Community Financial Corporation.
