CareOregon is a nonprofit organization committed to improving and protecting the health of low income and vulnerable Oregonians. The organization is a managed care health plan that contracts with the state to serve people who have the Oregon health plan or standard benefit packages. The company has nearly 1,000 primary care providers that serve members from community health centers, academic health centers, large health system or group practices or private practice groups. It has more than 30 hospitals contracted throughout Oregon with approximately 3,000 specialists. CareOregon has more than 10 public health departments. It is headquartered in Portland, Ore.
