Carolina Village is a nonprofit, continuing care retirement community located in Hendersonville, N.C. Established in 1974, the community has more than 200 studio, efficiency, and one- and two-bedroom apartments arranged in a quadrangle around a landscaped courtyard. Each wing and floor of apartments has a small lounge for residents to meet and relax. The facility also has more than 80 detached cottages, arranged in groups of three around a central patio, and a covered parking area. Its public areas include a library, a meeting room, several large rooms for games, parties and other events, and a chapel for meditation. The center s assistance-in-living program provides help to residents who remain in their apartments. Carolina Village also has a craft shop and a woodworking shop.
