Founded in 1975, Centre for Development and Population Activities is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization that provides various programs and services to improve the lives of women and girls in developing countries. It works hand-in-hand with women leaders, local partners and national and international organizations to give women the tools they need to improve their lives, families and communities. The center s programs increase educational opportunities for girls and youth, provide access to lifesaving reproductive health and HIV and AIDS information and services and work to strengthen women s ability to become leaders in their communities and nations. Centre for Development and Population Activities headquarters are in Washington, D.C., and it has offices in Egypt, India, Nepal, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa.
