The Center for American Progress, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a nonpartisan research center dedicated to improving the lives of Americans through ideas and action. It creates a long-term progressive vision for America that policy makers, thought leaders and activists can use to shape the national debate and pass laws that make a difference. It explores important issues faced by the United States and the world through dialog with leaders, thinkers and citizens. It develops new ideas, generates debate and develops a point of view on which to take a stand. It share its point of view, online, on campuses, in the media, on the shop-floor and in the boardroom, with Congress and in statehouses. It works on social and economic problems, domestic, economic and national security issues, as well as media and culture issues.
