Established in 1990 as a nonprofit organization, Center for Economic Progress offers an array of community-based programs to build the assets and increase the economic prosperity of working families and individuals across the United States. It also partners with community organizations, corporate allies and government agencies, and increases economic opportunities for low-income families, children and individuals by improving access to public, private and nonprofit programs and services. From providing free, fast, electronic tax preparation to helping families work out their problems with the Internal Revenue Service, to teaching home-based childcare workers how to navigate the complicated tax code in order to make the most of the business, the Center for Economic Progress works to boost the incomes and build the assets of the families and individuals it serves. Center for Economic Progress is located in Chicago.
