Founded in 2001, the Center for Global Development is an independent, nonprofit research organization that works to reduce global poverty and inequality in the world. The center has been ranked among the world s top think tanks by the Foreign Policy magazine. Through a combination of research and strategic outreach, the Center for Global Development engages policymakers and the public to influence the policies of the United States and several institutions, such as the World Bank and the World Trade Organization to improve the economic and social development prospects in poor countries. The center has partnerships with the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Natural Resources Defense Council, International Center for Research on Women, and Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty. The Center for Global Development publishes several essays, briefs, books and working papers.
