Founded in 1955 as the Mental Health Guidance Center of Middle Tennessee, Dede Wallace Center was renamed in 1971. It is operated by Centerstone, which is a nonprofit organization that helps children, adolescents, adults, seniors and their families who suffer from many behavioral health problems. The center provides group, individual, couple, and family counseling; crisis solutions; and psychiatric services and medication management. Its additional services include employee assistance programs, substance abuse treatment, case management services, sexual abuse counseling, and school-based counseling and prevention programs. It also has a special education academy for the youth and its programs are designed to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, psychological and addiction issues. Dede Wallace Center is located in Nashville, Tenn.
