Founded in 1965, Central City Economic Opportunity Corporation, also known as Central City EOC of New Orleans, is a nonprofit community development corporation. It sponsors and manages several community programs, including a Head Start center for children between the ages of 3 and 5. It promotes small business development in the central city community, helps with the development of pre-school children and provides assistance to adults between the ages of 18 and 35. Central City Economic Opportunity Corporation also offers child care services for infants and toddlers. In addition, it provides help for senior citizens to retain their independency. Central City Economic Opportunity Corporation has a staff of more than 35 full- and part-time employees. It is located in New Orleans.
