Central Park East High School provides academic instruction to students in grades 9 through 12. It conducts classes in English, math, history, social science, science and environmental studies. The school supports choir activities, as well as conducts Spanish classes. It organizes basketball, volleyball, tennis, golf, cross-country, football, wrestling, swimming and soccer activities. Central Park East High School also offers assistance in college and career planning. It has a parent-teacher association that works for the overall development of the school. The school operates a newspaper club. It additionally conducts parent-teacher conferences. Central Park East High School works in partnership with Girls Incorporated. It is administered by The New York City Department of Education, which is one of the largest systems of public schools in the United States.
