Charleston Southern University, founded in 1964, provides graduate and undergraduate degrees to students. It has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students and offers programs in business, computer science, criminal justice, information systems, behavioral and physical sciences, history and political science, and language and visual arts. The university also provides foundation studies and honors programs and offers technical education and vocational training to working professionals and students. It has various sports and athletic clubs that organize a variety of activities, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, riding, softball, soccer, volleyball, tennis and track. In addition, the college undertakes counseling, dinning, recreational and support services. Its campus, located in North Charleston, S.C., offers various amenities, including a book store, post office, laboratories and a library. Charleston Southern University is affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.
