Chastain Middle School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is located in Jackson, Miss., and is a part of the Jackson Public Schools. It serves students in grade six through eight. Its Open Doors classes program emphasizes on the development of the analytical, creative problem solving, research, leadership, communication, and affective and personal growth skills of the students. The school offers various courses for the English language learners. It also offers courses in native languages, including Russian, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Vietnamese, Chinese, Dinka, Japanese and various Indian languages. The school s international family resource center provides books, games, audiotapes and other learning materials for loans to parents and teachers.
