Founded in 1985, Christ House is a more than 33-bed medical recovery facility that provides residential health care services for homeless and sick people. It provides 24-hour medical care for patients who suffer from cancer, diabetes, kidney and liver diseases, HIV/AIDS, respiratory ailments, fractures, frostbite, hypertension and tuberculosis. The facility offers case management, nutritious meals, clothing, addictions treatment, long-term housing, placement assistance and other supportive services. Christ House s staff includes more than 45 full-time and over 25 part-time employees and nearly 200 volunteers. Additionally, its patients care is managed weekly by a multidisciplinary team comprised of a primary medical practitioner, registered nurse, case manager, addictions counselor and chaplain. Christ House is located in Washington, D.C.
