A multidisciplinary team of highly trained caregivers specializing in breast cancer work collaboratively to care for our patients. Each cancer patient's case is presented to a weekly breast conference meeting of our medical team that includes a surgical oncologist, radiation oncologist, medical oncologist, radiologist, and pathologist. Treatment planning is through this team and ensures optimal, evidence-based care.
For women who have undergone a mastectomy or other breast surgery, the Breast Institute offers reconstructive options such as flaps and implants. We specialize in nipple-sparing mastectomies. The Breast Institute now provides a patient navigator to ensure efficient delivery of the clinical care plan. The patient navigator serves as the patient's advocate by providing support and acting as a liaison between patient and the healthcare system.
