The Cedar Rapids Fire Department offers firefighting, emergency medical services and fire prevention to more than 120,000 residents. The department s mission is to be dedicated to safely protecting the community utilizing programs in emergency services and prevention activities. Its programs include an arson hotline, Citizens Fire Academy, fire extinguisher demonstrations, a fire safety center, home escape plans, juvenile fire intervention, ride-along activities and station tours.
