Public Works is a department that is administered by the City of Davenport in Iowa. The department is responsible for the protection and enhancement of city s natural and man-made resources. It also provides infrastructure maintenance and improvement services. Public Works is accredited by the American Public Works Association and is one of the largest, accredited agencies in Iowa. The department operates through various divisions, including airport, engineering, forestry, traffic and solid waste. Its building inspections division is responsible for the enforcement of codes for new construction and remodeling projects. In addition, Public Works maintains, repairs and inspects city's wastewater and stormwater collection systems.
