The Largo Police Department offers law enforcement services to the community. Located in Largo, Fla., the department operates a professional standards office, which offers performance enhancement services through recruitment, selection, training and inspection disciplinary administration. It negotiates labor agreements and collects data on use of force, disciplinary actions and commendations. The department s communications center handles more than 90,000 service calls each year. It processes requests and manages wanted persons and related databases for cross-reference of suspects. Additionally, the department operates a community service division, which offers various programs, such as the neighborhood watch, crime prevention presentations, security surveys, bicycle registration and safe streets programs.
