Built in 1929 and restored to its original splendor, it not only boasts gracious surroundings, but excellent sight lines and premium acoustics. Home to the world-renowned Lyric Opera of Chicago, it has played host to numerous Broadway shows, including Sunset Boulevard and The Phantom of the Opera, in addition to celebrated musical artists ranging from Bj rk to Frank Sinatra. This multifaceted venue is suited for private parties and social gatherings. Civic Opera House is a privately owned company that employs nearly 100 people.
