Council for Jewish Elderly has been operational for more than 35 years. Supported by the Jewish United Fund and Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, the organization offers a wide variety of outreach programs and community-based services. CJE s evaluation service center provides services, such as counseling, nursing, housekeeping, home delivered meals, cardiac care, diabetes education, ostomy and wound care, medication monitoring, and transportation. It serves more than 12,000 senior citizens every year. Council for Jewish Elderly also offers long- and short-term rehabilitation, Alzheimer s care, adult day programs, consumer assistance, care management, and assisted and independent living facilities. Additionally, the organization provides Medicare-certified and state-licensed home health services from specially trained professionals, such as registered nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, and home health aides. Council for Jewish Elderly has branch locations in Chicago, Evanston, Deerfield, Skokie and Niles, Ill.
