Close Up Foundation

Close Up Foundation, founded in 1970 and located in Alexandria, Va., is a nonprofit, nonpartisan citizenship education organization. The institution provides educational programs for more than 650,000 students, educators and adults. Its programs have been placed on the National Advisory List of Contests and Activities and are endorsed by The National Council for the Social Studies. Its learning program includes seminars, study visits and hands-on learning activities that cover the legislative process, judiciary, defense, international relations, the media, and domestic and international issues. The organization operates through various departments, such as community outreach, finance, human resources, publications, transportation, and television and video media division.
