Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative, also known as CHSFSC, represents an association of more than 40 community organizations and resident groups. Founded in 1996, it is a nonprofit organization that works in collaboration with tenant associations, shelters, after-school programs and community-based health care providers. The organization offers family advocacy, information, referral, and parenting education and support services. Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative administers transitional and summer youth employment programs, as well as provides case management solutions. It offers various membership options. The organization s other partners include residential and public housing complexes. Columbia Heights/Shaw Family Support Collaborative serves more than 1,000 families annually.
