The Solid Waste Division is operated by the City of Columbia in South Carolina, which also governs parks and recreation, police and public relations departments. The division provides solid waste collection and disposal services. It also assists with waste collection processes during special events, such as the St. Patrick's Day Celebration, 3 Rivers Music Festival, the Veterans Day parade and special neighborhood clean-ups.
