Kansas Association of Community Action Agencies supports community action agencies and other human service networks in their local, state and national efforts to end poverty, and is headquartered in Topeka, Kan. Established in 1968, the state association for Community Action Agencies in Kansas is a forum for issues of concern to low-income people. Its member agencies are private, nonprofit organizations funded from a variety of resources, including federal, state and local governments, as well as private foundations and donations. Its activities include statewide poverty-focused conferences, coordination of asset-development informational forums in Kansas, production of pertinent poverty-focused reports, and coordination of an outcomes-based model for Kansas' community action agencies. Its programs include job training, job development and employment assistance, educational assistance and guidance, income counseling and guidance, and housing development and assistance.
