Community Health Centers, also known as CHC, is a private, nonprofit, organization that offers a range of preventative medical, dental and pharmaceutical services. Incorporated in 1972, it is one of the leading ambulatory health care providers in Florida. The organization oversees a staff of more than 250 employees. Community Health Centers specializes in the areas of internal medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics and family planning. It also provides case management, health education, immunization, laboratory, and vision and hearing screening services. The organization conducts several fundraising events. In addition, it participates in the health care plans of various insurance companies, such as Medicare and Medicaid. Community Health Centers is accredited by The Joint Commission.
