Informations
Concordia Plan Services, formerly Worker Benefit Plans, supports The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod s mission by developing and administering programs that provide for the well-being of church workers and their families with respect to health care and in the event of disability, retirement, special needs or death. The first of such programs was the Pension Plan for Pastors and Teachers introduced in 1937 to provide retirement benefits. In the early 1960s, more extensive benefit programs were needed. As a result, the Synod created the Concordia Plans. For more than 30 years, the name Worker Benefit Plans encompassed all of the various benefit programs. With major benefit plan and administration changes planned for 2006, the company changed its name to Concordia Plan Services in 2005.
