Established in 1928, the Courage Center is a nonprofit, rehabilitation and resource center that offers a range of support services for individuals with various disabilities. It specializes in rehabilitative and aquatic therapy, pain management, and vocational and community-based services for individuals with spinal cord injuries and congenital disabilities. The center provides various transitional rehabilitation, camping, and sports and recreation programs. The Courage Center serves more than 11,000 individuals every year. It is certified by the United Way, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and American Camping Association. The Courage Center also administers a variety of sports and recreation programs that includes cycling, downhill skiing, waterskiing, gardening, basketball, quad rugby, goal ball, soccer and softball, as well as arts and crafts, painting and photography.
