The Crisis Stabilization Unit, also known as CSU, administers a 24-hour community-based, residential treatment program for adults aged 18 years and older. It serves as an alternative to hospitalization for individuals with chronic crisis without any medical complications. The unit focuses on the reduction of symptom distress with restoration back into the community. The Crisis Stabilization Unit is located in Owensboro, Ky. It is operated by RiverValley Behavioral Health, which was founded in 1966 and supports more than 20 Kentucky-based programs that include a variety of inpatient and outpatient services for individuals with developmental disabilities, and alcohol and drug addictions.
