Incorporated in 1906, the Cumberland Fire Department provides fire investigation and inspection, code enforcement, plan reviews and public education. It is comprised of more than 45 emergency medical technicians and over 10 paramedics. The department operates various fire stations and houses a fleet of pumpers, aerial towers, rescue trucks, command units and life support ambulances. The Cumberland Fire Department employs honor guards who participate in special occasions, such as parades, ceremonies, festivals, funerals and department activities. It is recognized by the Commission on Fire Accreditation. The department conducts training sessions in firefighting, self-contained breathing apparatus, and training tower that educates members in ventilation and forcible entry. The Cumberland Fire Department is located in Cumberland, Md.
