Dr. Lin is a locally grown product of Bakersfield. He graduated first in his class at Highland High School and went on to attend Duke University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Psychology as well as a certificate in Neuroscience. He then attended University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine where he earned his professional degree of D.M.D.
