Founded in 1968, Community Action Organization, also known as COA, is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of human services to the low-income residents of Erie County, N.Y. The organization provides health, education, drug rehabilitation, and job readiness and training services. It administers various children and family, crisis and emergency, neighborhood, employment and training, housing and development, drug and community technology programs. Community Action Organization administers the Drug, Abuse, Research & Treatment (DART) program, which includes a range of substance abuse treatment services. The organization serves through a network of more than 50 locations throughout Erie County, N.Y. Community Action Organization is located in Buffalo, N.Y.
