The Davenport Police Department has more than 160 police officers and over 50 civilian employees. It is nationally accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. The department operates administration, criminal investigations and patrol divisions. The Davenport Police Department also operates a crime prevention unit; planning, research and technical support teams; and training and records bureaus. It also has a traffic bureau that includes adult school crossing guards and traffic enforcement and accident investigation units. In addition, the department also operates a tactical operations bureau that handles gang and street crimes and vice and narcotics cases. The Davenport Police Department is located in Davenport, Iowa.
