The DC Office of Personnel provides services that enable the government to attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce. The office of the director provides leadership, strategic planning, direction, legal services, executive recruitment and support for the DCOP. The business process reengineering and information technology division champions change initiatives throughout DCOP, analyzes and helps to streamline business processes and oversees the development of a modern IT infrastructure. Management and employee services provides workforce planning, recruitment, selection, position classification, employee relations, employee performance and discipline, organizational design, employee benefits, records management, and career advice and counseling to management, employees and external customers. Policy and program development formulates and oversees policies and procedures related to human resources management. Shared services provides administrative services, budget and financial management, risk management, facilities management, fleet management, mail management, procurement services, human resources management, special events planning and communications.
