Established in 1985, Democracy Now is a national, daily and independent news program that is hosted by journalists Amy Goodman and Juan Gonzalez. It is one of the largest public media collaborations in the United States. Located in New York City, the program is broadcasted on National Public Radio community and college radio stations, as well as on public-accessible and satellite television stations. It also maintains one of the most popular podcasts on the Web. Democracy Now s War and Peace Report offers the perspectives of ordinary people, activists, artists, academicians, independent analysts, and independent and international journalists who are affected by the U.S. foreign policies. The program is funded entirely through contributions from listeners, viewers and charitable foundations.
