The Denver Police Department provides crime prevention and law enforcement services to the city of Denver. It operates criminal investigations, special operations, and technology and support divisions. The department also has a traffic investigations bureau that handles cases of fatal accidents, bodily injury accidents, habitual traffic offenders and criminal impersonation. Its patrol division provides a variety of services, including emergency incident response, accident investigations, community problem-solving and partnerships, and traffic, ordinance and statute enforcements. In addition, the Denver Police Department operates a training bureau that provides recruit and in-service trainings and hosts law enforcement seminars and special events, including promotional and award ceremonies.
