Desert Shadows Elementary School, located in Scottsdale, Ariz., is part of Paradise Valley Unified School District. It enrolls more than 600 students, in grades kindergarten through five. It prepares students through a flexible education system, which begins their development into well-rounded adults. It offers a comprehensive educational program in reading, language arts, math, social studies, science, physical education, computer technology, vocal music and art. The school has several events scheduled during the year, such as an ice-cream social, fall concert, chess club tournament, book fair, artist day and spring carnival.
