Detroit Windsor Tunnel is a vehicular international subaqueous border crossing between the United States and Canada. It was opened to traffic in 1930 and is 5,160-foot long with a height of more than 13 feet. The tunnel consists of toll and inspection plazas that are responsible for the collection of toll taxes and inspections. Its toll plazas accept payments through credit cards and offer cash exchange services. Detroit Windsor Tunnel also provides gift certificates for the purchase of tunnel tokens. In addition, the tunnel offers regular programming and traffic information through its radio station, WJR.
