In 2000 Chris Funk started a dry cleaning & laundry pickup and delivery services while still a student at Flagler College. He purchased a trailer to use for picking up & delivering the clothes .He contracted with what was then known as Pelican Cleaners and today is the location of the DeLuxe Cleaners plant in Jacksonville. In 2002 CKF acquired the assets of Dockside Cleaners in St. Augustine and in 2003 CKF built its own dry cleaning plant in Dockside Cleaners thus ending its dependence on non-company owned dry cleaning & laundry services. Chris, Carter and Chris’s mom & Carter’s wife Peggy took over the operations of Dockside cleaners. Dockside Cleaners still operates with its’ own plant consisting of one location and pickup and delivery service in the St. Augustine and surrounding areas. In 2009 CKF was awarded a GSA contract opening up an avenue for government work. CKF now works with and has done work for Kings Bay, NAS Mayport, NAS Jacksonville, and Camp Blanding.
