After 8 years of successful private practice, Dr. Nunn decided to broaden his expertise with a medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and two additional residencies. With more than 21 years of medical training, Dr. Donald R. Nunn has earned a rightful place among the most accomplished plastic surgeons in the United States. Dr. Nunns post graduate education began in the field of dentistry. After receiving his doctor of dental surgery from the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Nunn returned to his home state to complete a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Nunns first residency was in otolaryngology/head and neck surgery with an emphasis on head and neck oncology and reconstruction which qualified him for a much wider spectrum of work. Dr. Nunns second residency, at the elite Department of Plastic Surgery at University of California, Los Angeles, placed him alongside some of the most renowned plastic surgeons in the world, many of which had private practices in Beverly Hills. Dr. Nunns hard work was rewarded with an aesthetic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat hospital in New York City where he worked with many well known Park Avenue plastic surgeons at one of the busiest cosmetic facilities in the country.
