Downstate Family Practice

The Department of Family Medicine, a part of the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, offers classes in dermatology, cardiology, urology and gynecology. The department conducts conferences and lectures in the areas of behavioral science, practice management, women s health and Geriatrics. It undertakes projects in the field of primary care for mentally retarded and developmentally disabled patients. The Department also operates several medical centers in New York. The SUNY Downstate Medical Center specializes in the areas of Emergency Medicine, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology. The center operates an asthma center, as well as offers rehabilitative, radiology, oncology, psychiatry, transplantations and surgery services.
