Duke University Eye Center provides ophthalmology/eye care services to the more than 47,000 patients annually. In addition to general eye care, the organization specializes in treating some of the most challenging eye problems, such as glaucoma, eye muscle disorders, corneal transplants, corneal and external eye disease, cancer of the eye, macular degeneration, vitreoretinal diseases and neuro-ophthalmological disorders. It also offers refractive and cosmetic eye surgery. Duke University Eye Center was established in 1973 and is part of the Duke University Health System. It has a main eye center in Durham, N.C., and additional locations in Cary, North Durham, Southpoint, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Wilson and Wilmington, N.C., and Danville, Va.
