Founded in 1958, the Dwight B. Waldo Library houses general reference materials, science and technology materials, maps and atlases, and the United States and the Michigan government documents. It offers a wide range of books, including the Ann Kercher Memorial Collection of materials on Africa south of the Sahara. The library also provides collection of the history, religion, philosophy and culture of the Medieval period and the Randall Frazier Memorial Collection of the history and culture of Black America. It additionally provides the Leslie H. Wood Memorial Collection of materials in the fields of geography and geology and a strong business collection. Located in Kalamazoo, Mich., libraries collections serves the college of arts and sciences, fine arts and business, and engineering and applied sciences. The library is owned and operated by the Western Michigan University.
