Eagle Newspapers is a group of 15 community weekly newspapers in Onondaga and Madison counties in New York. Founded in 1992, the company has grown to include several specialty publications that include Syracuse Parent, Prime, Empire Outdoor Journal, Urban CNY and the Central New York Employment Guide. In 1998, Eagle Newspapers purchased Spotlight Newspapers in Albany, N.Y., a group of 10 suburban weeklies. In addition, Eagle s main office in Syracuse, N.Y., is the home of Empire Media, which publishes the statewide-distributed Empire Monthly and Empire Education publications. Eagle s publications have won dozens of awards from the New York Press Association and Suburban Newspapers of America. In addition to print services, Eagle Newspapers launched a Web site design service in 2004 that specializes in custom design for businesses and municipalities.
