Dr. Kurowski was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1949 but grew up all over the eastern seaboard and west coast, as his father was a Marine officer. They lived in North Carolina, two places in Virginia, New Jersey, and two places in California. He went to three high schools in California and two Universities. He then attended dental school at Creighton University and graduated in 1976. That was a banner year for him as he also married a native Omaha girl. His military upbringing got in his blood and he served in the active Army for 11 years. He spent a year in Georgia in a General Practice Residency and then went to Korea for a year. Their next four years had them stationed in West Germany. It was there that they adopted our oldest daughter, Courtney. Upon the return to the United States, they moved to Texas where he spent 2 years learning Oral Surgery. It was there that they adopted their youngest daughter, Natalie. Their next and final assignment was in Fort Riley. Dr. Ku rowski left the Army in 1987 and after much thought they settled in Hutchinson. He spent the next 15 years in the Army National Guard traveling throughout the state doing dental work on our troops. He had a hands-on course in Kansas History and Geography. Dr. Kurowski retired from the Guard in 2002 but has kept active doing dental exams for them on a contract basis.
