The El Paso Fire Department is a full-service fire department that responds to calls involving fires, medical emergencies and hazardous materials events in the City of El Paso. The department maintains specialized teams specializing in water, mountain and technical rescues, as well as other types of emergency events. It also offers mutual aid to Fort Bliss Military Base and the County of El Paso under the terms of the Mutual Aid Agreements. The El Paso Fire Department responds to more than 60,000 emergency calls annually and its inspectors ensure that all structures in the city follows building and fire codes. Additionally, the department s public education unit trains citizens and children in fire safety, as well as provides paramedic and ambulance services.
